Coming next! Art&&Code: Transmissions
Art&&Code returns this September 18th to 20th with Transmissions, a three-day exploration of radio as a creative medium through hands-on workshops, artist-led learning, and public conversation.
Art&&Code is the STUDIO's long-running event series dedicated to democratizing emerging technologies through creative exploration and public engagement. Since 2009, the series has introduced artists, technologists, educators, and curious newcomers to topics ranging from programming for artists and young people, mobile and locative media, and DIY 3D scanning, to virtual and mixed realities, digital craft, live coding, and real-time visuals. The 2023 edition welcomed more than 300 participants and helped foster a growing regional community around live visual performance through free workshops and expanded accessibility.
This year's edition focuses on Transmission Arts, an interdisciplinary field that uses radio frequency transmission and reception as artistic media. Working at the intersection of art, science, communication, and experimentation, Transmission Arts work with the invisible material frequencies that connect us through broadcast signals, wireless technologies, and shared electromagnetic space.
Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to:
